When reviewing an adoption application we try to match the right animal to the right home to ensure a perfect match between pet and people and create a forever home for the animal.

The Application: We require that all potential adoptees fill out our adoption application either at the shelter or online. This will help us match people and pets. People wishing to adopt from the Burin SPCA must submit the names of three refrences (not family) and supply a history of current/former pets. All information given is confidential and is used soley for adoption purposes.

Time Frame: Most applications will be processed within three days, however the ability to reach refrences/landlords etc. can affect the amount of time needed to process application.

Fees: As a part of our Adoption Policy we now require a Spay/Neuter Deposit to be paid at the time of adoption. Once your pet has been spayed/neutered the deposit will be returned with prove of spay/neuter.
